Badawi

Badawi was one of the projects that emerged from the DIY cassette label “Psy Co.” and “Ruff Riddim Productions” between 1989 to 1994, performed and produced by Raz Mesinai and originally called ``The Bedouin”. After getting signed as “Sub Dub”, with co producer John Ward, to Instinct Records, Mesinai signed to ROIR Records in 1995 as Badawi for seven albums as well, and then to Asphodel for two albums, “Safe”, and “The Heretic of Ether”. Spawn from Raz Mesinai's dynamic percussion heavier works merged with his ear for cinematic music, Badawi became a go to sound in the 90’s and early 2000’s for films on war in the middle east and Africa by filmmakers including Ridley Scott (Black Hawk Down), Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler) and Jonathan Demme (The Truth About Charlie).
