Cavendish Beat Battle: The Winners

You can't go wrong with a track from the iconic library music archives of Cavendish Music. But impressing Grammy-winning producer STREETRUNNER for a prize pool with a total worth of $1,800, is something else. These are the three winners and their beats that got them new production gear, courtesy of istandard.

Winner: DJ A-O.N.E.

DJ A-O.N.E. from Houston, Texas is the winner of this Cavendish Music Beat Battle. He wins big with his neck-snapping Akai MPC Live beat, which includes a subtle Westside Gunn vocal: Studio One Professional 4.5 software (worth $450) and a Lauten Audio Series Black LA-220 condenser microphone (worth $499). Second Place: Da Fingaz

Da Fingaz from Woodbridge, Virginia is the runner-up of this Beat Battle. His fresh take on ‘Smile of a Stranger’ was actually made on the iPad using Beatmaker 3 and a handful of apps, combined with the IK Multimedia iRig Keys I/O 25 as a keyboard/MIDI controller. He wins Spire Studio, an all-in-one wireless multitrack recorder by iZotope, and a Kaotica Eyeball as an isolation solution for any microphone. Third Place: AKANJI

The third prize goes to German producer AKANJI. His beat was made using a Maschine Studio, Kontrol 49 keyboard, Traktor Kontrol & Scratch Pro. It features a Westside Gunn vocal sample to make it slap even more. His Hamburg-based studio setup is soon upgraded with the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x professional studio monitor headphones! His new website and Spotify page are currently in the works. Till then, check out his music on Instagram.
