Tracklib Roundup June

New month, new music. Producers still don't show any signs of slowing down. Here are our five favorite tracks of June containing samples found and cleared through Tracklib.

ANoyd & Statik Selektah - The Mood

Two weeks ago, producer Statik Selektah and emcee ANoyd released an album together. As opposed to its title, Yuck!, it was actually full of tasteful tracks. The first single, The Mood, includes warm Rhodes sounds by jazz fusion artist Dexter Wansel; soothingly sampled for the Connecticut-based emcee to do his thing.

Aldo Vanucci & Kylie Auldist - Get a Hold on This (The Allergies Remix)

“Get a Hold on This” by UK-based DJ/producer Aldo Vanucci (notoriously nicknamed "The Vinyl Pimp") features Australian singer Kylie Auldist (of The Bamboos). The upbeat original was part of his Digging For a Living album. Now–with a bit of help from a 1974 soul/funk track by Sound Experience–the track flows smoothly into a new direction. Reinterpreted by UK-based funk/hip-hop production duo The Allergies.

Chris Fields - Wave Different

Who would have thought that big band horns could sound so banging? For his self-produced track “Wave Different”, Miami-based emcee/producer Chris Fields flipped a 40s big band jazz composition by Stan Kenton Orchestra. Showing who’s boss with beats as well as with words.

Angelo Ferreri & Hatiras - Soul on Fire

Italian house producer Angelo Ferreri and his Canadian colleague Hatiras released another collaborative track last month. The build-up of “Soul on Fire” is much funkier than previous collabs such as last year’s “In The House” track. Partly thanks to the stems of "Where Has Your Love Gone."

With Angelo Ferreri elected two years ago as the #1 Best Jackin' House Artist by Traxsource, and Hatiras as the captain of his own Spacedisco Records imprint, their collaborative sound is grounded in Jackin’ House: sample-based upbeat house music with funky basslines and old school drums. Exactly the sound of “Soul on Fire.”

Alexander Dreamer - Rope

Built around a flip of Flashlight’s “Every Little Beat Of My Heart", Ohio-based emcee/producer Alexander Dreamer presents a contemplative new track. It’s his first official release of 2019–one of hopefully more to come.
