Tracklib Roundup
May

New month – lots of new music with Tracklib samples. We’re definitely picking up the pace and had many more tracks to choose from this month. Here are five of our favorite tracks from May. All these songs contain samples found and cleared through Tracklib, of course.

DJ Khaled - Holy Mountain (ft. Buju Banton, Sizzla, Mavado, 070 Shake)

DJ Khaled’s new album "Father of Asahd” is one of this year’s most hyped albums. The album opens with the Major Seven-produced song “Holy Mountain” that uses a sample from 10-year old reggae artist Billy Boyo. Read the full story about the song here.

Statik Selektah - Tropic Lights

Statik Selektah has had a very productive year with four releases so far. This song is from “Mahalo (The Hawaii Instrumentals)" that he recorded in Hawaii. The album only samples Hawaiian artists and for this one he used a Mike Lundy track from 1980.

Curtiss King & Oh Gosh Leotus - Taking Back Ownership

Curtiss King is a well-known voice in the producer community with a large following on his YouTube channel. He has produced for artists such as Murs, Ab-Soul and Mack 10. But this is his first song in two years under his own name.

Sleep Deez & Felice LaZae - Last Bite

Sleep Deez is a producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. This song with singer Felice LaZae was co-written with Samantha Blanchard and the whole process of creating the song was documented inthis video.

Stiles - Best Not Miss

Stiles is a rapper based in Pennsylvania who actually just started releasing music this year. This track was produced by King Will The Third and samples "Love Me Or Leave Me” by Band of Thieves from 1976.

June is up Next

We will continue doing these roundups every month. If you have released a song containing samples from Tracklib that we're not aware of, please reach out and we might include you in one of the next Tracklib Roundups.
