FORTHENIGHT

Charles Jr. Ocansey, also known as FORTHENIGHT, is a Diamond Certified,
Grammy-winning Canadian-based producer signed to Wondagurl’s label imprint,
Wonderchild, a joint-venture with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Travis Scott’s Cactus
Jack Publishing.

FORTHENIGHT first started producing in his parent’s basement at the age of 15, chopping
samples from old records and experimenting with unique sounds. In 2018, the producer
released his first sample pack, which received praise from Wondagurl and other top producers
in the industry. Shortly after, he released another pack which got him introduced to Frank
Dukes by his Kingsway team. By creating these distinctive sample packs with his signature
“night vibe” sounds, FORTHENIGHT was able to land various major label placements with Bad
Bunny, Don Toliver, Dave East, Killy, 88GLAM, D-Block Europe, J Stone and many more.
In 2021, the multi-talented producer obtained a Grammy award and RIAA 24x Latin Diamond
certification for his work on Bad Bunny’s ‘YHLQMDLG’ for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album.
He’s also been awarded an RIAA Gold certification for Don Toliver’s ‘Heaven or Hell’ and
more recently a BRIT Certified Silver Album award for his work on D-Block Europe’s ‘The
Blue Print — Us Vs. Them’.

FORTHENIGHT continues to break records with his production on Summer Walker’s first
Billboard #1 album Still Over It, producing the standout single “No Love” featuring SZA. The
single debuted at #6 on the US Spotify chart and the project earned the biggest 24-hour
debut of all time on Apple Music for an album by a female artist. He has also contributed
production to several other high profile projects this year including “2Face” by Young Nudy
and Herbo for Nudy’s DR. EV4L album, “Heart of Glass” for Killy’s Kill Streak 2, and
“Stripper Heels & Heartbreaks” featuring Melii for NorthSideBenji’s The Extravagant
Collection, which was a #1 hip-hop album in Canada. He has also worked with artists like Flo
Milli, Yung Mal, Yak Yola, T-Shyne, Strick, and many more.
FORTHENIGHT often takes inspiration from horror film scores and dark soundscapes,
underscoring the meaning of his moniker. With his ability to create one-of-a-kind grooves
mixed with mysterious sounds and melodies, his attention to detail in his sound design process
is what makes him so special.
