Funk Embassy Records

Based in Tallinn’s Telliskivi Creative City, Estonian Funk Embassy is a full-service music house dedicated to contemporary artists and archival gems in the funk, soul, disco, jazz, and world music genres. Founded by Henrik Ehte and active since 2016, the imprint has earned multiple accolades, cementing its status as Estonia's best-selling label and receiving the Golden Record in 2026.

Leading the catalog, artists such as Rita Ray, Lexsoul Dancemachine, and Haldi & ans Flamingo have garnered significant international acclaim, earning airplay on global stations including the BBC, radioeins, and FIP.

Equally vital are the label’s musical archaeology projects. The Groove of ESSR compilation series has captured the attention of tastemakers like Gilles Peterson, My Analog Journal, and KEXP. A core mission of the Embassy is unearthing unreleased—and often once-forbidden—gems from the Estonian Radio archives. These projects tell the stories of artists active during the Soviet occupation, finally giving their music a second life in the free world.
