Climax

Climax was a pioneering Bolivian progressive and psychedelic rock band, formed in 1968 by José “Pepe” Eguino, Javier Saldías and Álvaro Córdova. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, they developed their power trio sound after a formative stay in the United States during the height of the counterculture era. In 1974 they released their only album, “Gusano Mecánico”, a conceptual work that questioned industrial dehumanization and reclaimed indigenous roots. Bold and visionary, Climax expanded the possibilities of Latin American rock, creating a landmark in Bolivia’s musical history and leaving a lasting legacy as a symbol of creative freedom.
