Marina Decourt
Marina Decourt is a singer, composer, instrumentalist and musical producer.
Inspired by diverse influences, Marina has a consistent enquiry into the timbres of electronic music and into the instruments and sounds of the world, her interest is to discover new sounds and integrate them until they no longer belong anywhere but at the same time belong to everyone.
She is the musical producer of the band ACAJÁ (groove/jazz/afrobeat) of which she is also composer and singer. The band formed in 2014 in an encounter of sounds between Felipe Nogueira (drums), Pedro Bienemann (guitar) and Diego Aquino (bass).
In the duo AWA with percussionist Anita Gritsch (AUT), Marina sings, plays bass and is also the musical producer.
In her debut album ‘Insights Sobre Uma Cidade Cinza’, Marina Decourt divides the musical production with Leonardo Mendes and Thiago Duar. It’s an album that explores diverse universes of music, universes through which Marina passed and resulted in where she is now. The result is the story of the album which, if listened to in sequence, really can be told with the beginning (Prelude), middle (Minha Voz) and end (Birds). From working as a video producer with Multiversos Audiovisual in direction, direction of photography, and soundtrack, Marina embeds textures in her sounds that truly reflect images. In themes such as life and death, internal battles, love, prayer and as a denouement, a celebration, Marina questions the possibilities of feeling and invites the listener to dive into deep seas.
