Micky Manchester

Mickey Manchester (Michael David Kenneth Read)(born 1 March 1947) is an English radio disc jockey, writer, journalist, and TV presenter best known for writing hits such as "High Rise", "My Town", and "Grief Never Grows Old". Having worked extensively BBC Radio 1 as a DJ he has also spent time writing music to accompany the poems John Betjeman, composing for musicals such as "Young Apollo", "Oscar" and "Great Expectations and also for recording with artists like Cliff Richard, David Essex, Gene Pitney, and Marc Almond. 

Mike was presented with a BASCA Gold Badge Award in recognition of his contribution to music on October 19, 2011 and currently presents his "Afternoon Delight" show on the Sussex station ‘V2 Radio’ as well as hosting the breakfast show on Downforce Radio.
