Negoleiros Do Ritmo

The "Negoleiros do Ritmo", founded in 1956, reached their zenith with the EPs "Aí Compadre eN´Gomas - 1964," Minha Cidade é Linda - 1968 ", all recorded at Estúdio Alvorada in Vila Nova de Gaia, in Portugal.
In 1968, the band recorded songs in Angola for the first time, at Estúdio Etiquette Bonzão, other great successes of the time like "Lemba", "Riquita" in 1972, and in 1973, "Casaco de Fardo e Lamento".

From the revolutionary phase that led the country to independence in 1975, band members were among others Dionísio Rocha, Zé Fininho, Joãozinho Morgado, Almirindo Cruz, Carlitos Vieira Dias, Mário Fernandes and Damião de Jesus (deceased). Many of the members went on individual projects.
