Pitchfork calls Pat’s music “like Count Basie directing a big band dedicated to lost Roy Ayers compositions”, while legendary DJ and radio personality; Bobbito Garcia has said this about PVD’s artistic output: “what I perceive the album to be is a jazz record that’s produced by someone young enough to be raised on hip-hop.”
