Grupo Amigos

Grupo Amigos

Grupo Amigos emerged in early 1970s Peru, when rock was moving from psychedelic and hard rock toward softer, melodic styles. Influenced by UK and US folk rock, Latin American traditions and the enduring spirit of The Beatles, the young band – led by Edmundo, Andrés Da Ros, and Simón Ames – crafted original songs marked by harmony and experimentation.
Their debut single ‘Dirty Girl’ became a radio hit, paving the way for “Paloma Mensajera”, an album notable for its inventive arrangements and early use of a Moog synthesizer.
