Jasun Martz
Jasun Martz is an American composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and visual artist whose work spans progressive rock, contemporary classical and avant-garde music. Emerging in the 1970s, he contributed to Frank Zappa’s “Zappa in New York” sessions while developing his own highly experimental musical language. His compositions combine orchestral textures, synthesizers, rock, jazz and dissonant experimentation, often on an ambitious scale. Among his best-known projects is The Pillory / The Battle, an expansive orchestral-rock work begun in the late 1970s. Martz’s genre-defying approach has established him as a distinctive figure in experimental and progressive music.
