Dave ‘Smoota’ Smith makes his groovy and sensual music from Brooklyn, NY. As SMOOTA he has toured the world and released two LPs and many singles, including one featured in the #1 2020 Netflix movie Holidate. As a trombone player he leads the instrumental bands Smoota and The Beast and The Smoota Téte-a-Téte and has toured and/or recorded with Run The Jewels, TV On The Radio, Daptone Records, Aaron Neville, Griz, Angelique Kidjo, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Sufjan Stevens, Phish, Rev. Vince Anderson and The Love Choir, Burnt Sugar The Arkestra Chamber, and many more. He was formerly part of the house band of The Gong Show starring Mike Meyers on ABC TV.
