The Return to Sampling by French Hip-Hop Icons IAM

Since their early days in 1989, sampling had always been deeply ingrained in the sound of pioneering French hip-hop crew IAM. Flipping records from Africa, Arab countries, and beyond, represented their roots in the city of Marseille. From 2003 onwards, they were forced to rethink their sound and move away from sampling. For their latest release, after 20+ years IAM producer Akhenaton (a.k.a. Chill) could finally fully return to what he does best: chopping and flipping samples.
