Rules

Your Instagram profile needs to be public for us to be able to see your post. Only entries using#tracklibbeatbattle with at least two friends tagged and from a profile which follows XLN Audio and Tracklib, will be entering the competition.

Your music is still yours. We do not own any of the entries to this competition and will not use them for any other advertising purposes. We will, however, repost your tracks to promote the competition itself.

The first prize will be awarded a full sample license to monetize their work for free. The winner will, however, still have to pay the original rightsholders their share (5, 10 or 20% depending on sample time) of any eventual revenue earned on the new song.

No purchase is necessary to participate, but the samples need to be downloaded using a personal account on Tracklib. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable and will be added to the winners Tracklib account.

If you have any further questions about the rules of this competition - just ask. We're here to help: support@tracklib.com.

About The Sample

aura

Aura's funk is a family affair: the Hawaiian band consists of seven siblings from the Mendoza Family of Waipahu. After making waves in Hawaiian nightlife under the moniker of The Nomads, in 1978 the band gets the opportunity to record a full album after Broad Recording Studios (one of the best recording facilities in Honolulu) heard their disco rendition of a track by Kui Lee. The Nomads found a home, and changed their name to Aura while recording the album as advised by the producers. The 1979 release of their soul/funk led to a sought-after album, mentioned in the same breathe as other coveted Hawaiian gems like Lemuria and **Mike Lundy's The Rhythm Of Life**.

Or as shared by Aloha Got Soul, the Hawaiian label that reissued Aura's self-titled album in 2016 on vinyl (which you can win as part of this Beat Battle), to promote the record: "Raw funk... honey-coated soul... grooves and big smiles... lavish Hayes-level horns... dynamic and luxurious full spectrum harmonies. Stunning." A true 70s funk/soul treasure to use to impress Beat Battle judge Tr!zzy...

About The Judge

North Carolina-based producer, DJ, and finger drummer Trizzy Track (b.k.a. Tr!zzy) knows that patience pays off: with his trademark hashtag #practice, showcased through countless finger-drumming videos and MPC sessions to craft his skills.

Last year, a video of him finger-drumming using Heather Headley’s “In My Mind” (an R&B track from 2006) went viral with millions of streams. It led to thousands of mentions and retweets by his followers directed at Meek Mill to get on the beat—which worked out, and got them working together within 24 hours. That particular session on his MPC Live got Tr!zzy to working with the likes of Timbaland and araabMuzik, with 400K+ followers on Instagram to show and prove he’s one of the top finger-drummers in the game right now.

Keep digging
