Apocalypse

Apocalypse was a progressive and psychedelic rock band formed in the Chicago area in 1976 by brothers Michael and Tom Salvatori, alongside Gail Salvatori and drummer Scott Magnesen. Blending intricate arrangements, male and female vocal harmonies, violin, Mellotron and layered guitars, their music drew inspiration from bands such as Genesis, Gentle Giant and Renaissance. The group recorded five ambitious tracks in 1976, but the recordings remained unheard until the master tapes were rediscovered decades later. Released in 2022 as The Castle, these lost recordings revealed a remarkable example of American underground progressive rock from the late 1970s.
