Bob Destiny

Bob Destiny (born Ralph Philip Brown, 1933, San Juan, Puerto Rico) was an American singer, pianist, dancer and performer whose career spanned jazz, soul, funk and theatrical performance. After early work in New York clubs and collaborations with artists including Billie Holiday, he toured internationally during the 1950s and 1960s with his stage production Harlem USA. In 1969 he moved to Algeria, where he recorded the rare funk-soul singles “Wang Dang” and “Mahna (Troubles)”. Destiny later became an influential jazz educator and cultural figure in Spain and France.
