Portuguese Reggae Artist Freddy Locks Celebrates 20 Years with New Album Infinite Roots

In 2024, Freddy Locks, a pioneering figure in the Portuguese reggae scene, marks 20 years of his music career with the release of Infinite Roots, a fresh reimagining of his greatest hits and live favorites.

Born Frederico Oliveira in Lisbon’s Alvalade neighborhood, Freddy Locks began his musical journey in the punk-rock scene before discovering reggae, which became his true calling. Over two decades, he has developed a unique sound blending reggae rhythms with powerful, socially conscious lyrics.

Freddy’s critically acclaimed solo albums, including “Bring Up the Feeling” (2006), helped shape the independent reggae movement in Portugal. His music has reached national radio, MTV and festivals alongside legends like Sly & Robbie.

Currently recording his new material and seeking international partnerships, Freddy Locks is ready to share his positive message and authentic reggae sound with audiences worldwide.
