Geisten

Geisten was formed in late summer 2023 right next to one of Markörgatan's larger parking lots in Västervik, Småland. When they were formed, Geisten took the form of a quartet consisting of four small-town gentlemen who had never played together before but who had been messing around in various musical constellations for many years. Over time, the quartet swelled to a sextet and together they have since the start appeared sporadically along the Småland coastline. Now they are looking further inland and in September 2025 they will release their first EP through the Stockholm-based indie label Human & Machine. Geisten likes to flirt across genres but has taken the strongest roots in the Swedish, guitar-based, indie rock scene. The themes in the songs are often shaped by the existential brows of middle-class life, the countryside and the silver years. Most often, it is some form of misery they explore, but just as often their music is also a search for light in the common darkness of everyday life.
