Hans Bethge

German poet and translator (born 9 January 1876 in Dessau; died 1 February 1946 in Göppingen) whose reputation rests above all on the versions of Chinese poetry set in [a=Gustav Mahler]'s "Das Lied von der Erde" or in several songs set to music by [a=Anton Webern] among others.
