Singer Jimmy Grissom is a nephew of Dan Grissom, who was the vocalist for the Jimmy Lunceford Orchestra.
Jimmy recorded in the late 1940's for Miltone Records and had a hit with the seasonal tune "Christmas Brings Me Down" in 1948.
The next year he recorded "California Blues" and "Footsteps Round My Door" on MGM # 10337. He played clubs in the Los Angeles area in late 1949 and into 1950.
