Los Texao

Los Texao were an influential Peruvian rock band formed in Arequipa in 1969. Blending psychedelic rock with Latin American roots, they became a defining force in Peru’s early 1970s music scene, known for their innovation, energy and rebellious spirit. The group – Fernando “Feño” Humbser, Juan Núñez, Víctor Dibán, Edgar “Chito” Manrique and Julio Torres – developed their distinctive sound with the help of musician Jaime Delgado Aparicio. Though their career was brief, ending in 1975, Los Texao’s impact endured. Their music captured a moment when Peruvian rock looked beyond its borders, embodying the dreams, experimentation and youthful ambition of a generation determined to make its voice heard.
