Mauricio Fleury

Delve into the quirky and psych-tinged world of Brazilian pianist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Mauricio Fleury. Originally from São Paulo and now based in Berlin, Fleury has been active for over than two decades and has built a reputation as a versatile collaborator, working across Brazilian popular music, jazz, Afrobeat, and experimental grooves. A founding member of the influential Afro-Brazilian ensemble Bixiga 70, he has also performed and recorded with Brazilian legends such as Gal Costa and João Donato. His solo work blends soulful keyboards, vintage synthesisers and global rhythmic influences, drawing inspiration from jazz-funk, psychedelic soundtracks, and record-collector culture to create richly textured, groove-driven compositions.
