Trance
Trance built its identity around a specific emotional transaction. Where techno pushed inward, and house kept its eyes on the dancefloor, trance reached for something more expansive, using long melodic phrases, layered synth pads, and gradual tension-and-release structures to pull listeners into an extended state of focus.
The genre hit its commercial peak through the late 1990s and early 2000s, with producers like ATB and Paul van Dyk turning the sound into a global phenomenon. Underneath the arena-sized anthems, though, a deeper and more patient strand of trance was always running alongside.
Trance samples in our catalog lean into both sides of that split. The melodic architecture of original recordings offers producers something that loop packs rarely deliver, namely, arrangements that breathe and build across several minutes rather than repeating in four-bar cycles.
Chicane is the standout catalog presence here, with multiple recordings spanning different periods of their output, from the atmospheric "Halcyon" and "From Blue To Green" to later work including "Mojave" and a collaboration with Vigri on "Three." Nick Tidy contributes several tracks, including "Corporate Trance" and "Amnesia," covering the harder, more rhythmic end of the genre.
Frequency Waves brings thirteen multitracks on "Papaya," making it one of the most producer-flexible entries in the collection. Accidental Allies offer six multitracks on "Here and Now Part 2." PR Project, Joel Jungell, Desert Dwellers, FLX, and Maya Beats round out a catalog that moves across melodic, progressive, and peak-hour trance territory.
