Altercat

Born out of a passion for digging and DJing, Altercat is an independent label dedicated to handmade, heartfelt and exciting music from all over the world, vintage as well as contemporary. Run out of Berlin by DJ, polyglot and full-time traveller Sergi Roig, its catalogue knows neither boundaries nor borders. It spans from experimental Brazilian recordings to Afrojazz or honey dripping jams out of Egypt, from almost forgotten musical pioneers to new aspiring bands. What the releases have in common is ruled by one force only, something which in the era of playlists and algorithms has become increasingly rare: organically grown taste.
